This one is very close to my heart! I love writing Sub-textual Poems.

Rain in the sun

Drying of the grass

Seasons changing fast,

Sweet September.

.

Dance on the glass

Untouched letters of the past

It rained yesterday,

I remember.

.

This wind pierces through me.

Autumn comforts me with its cure.

.

Fragment to the phantosmic

Scream of the quiet air

kaleidoscope in the dark,

Whoring slumber.

What will you do in 2012?

It’s another year, another round of hand wringing about resolutions having eaten too much cake.

Now, after all air kissing, all-round spreading of germs and polluting of emails with insincere wishes for prosperity and happiness for fellow mankind, do you know what you want to do?

Are you in some foreign country, having bought the pre/post-christmas, post-31 december cut rate fares? Are you wandering, hand-in-hand with your beloved (or someone else’s) amidst the fountains and gardens of foreign land, refusing to admit that you have to return to a shitty economy?

Or are you hard at work, scheming schemes for the new financial year?

Have you asked your favorite astrologers about what 2012 holds in surprise? You had better do this quickly. Who better to ask than someone who is omniscient? Omniscient means he knows everything – absolutely everything, including Raakhee Sawant’s bra size.

Have you decided to reject the Mayan predictions? Because if you don’t, then there’s little point in planning.

Personally, i don’t believe the mayan calendar ends in 2012. I think the goats ate the rest of it.

Too proud to admit it was a mistake, the mayan astrologer decided to make up this end-of-the-world thing and gave everyone points to ponder.

Cigarettes cause cancer. Sugar causes diabetes. Farting cattle cause global warming. Eating cattle causes heart disease. Sex causes everyone to become jealous.

So, tip of the hat to the mayans, crack open a ciggie, pour yourself a double, dig into a rare sirloin and covet thy neighbour’s wife. Or thy neighbour. You’ll die but you’ll be fat, drunk, envied and incurably diabetic.

That’s how we can all put the happy in Happy New Year.

Short of words i try to make my point.

But i said never enough to make you mine.

You planned your strike and stopped caring.

When you did stop, then so did i.

Then why am i the hard one?

Then why am i in pain?

All those good times did you swallow?

And Is my descent your gain?

.

Stammer my way to explain you.

I have craved to see you.

And waiting for you maybe i have changed.

If i have changed, then so have you.

Yes i am the one in sorrow,

and i am the one you have killed.

But now that i have defined you,

never again shall i let you in.

Evolution of gaming as a competitive sport.

As multiplayer gaming has become more and more prevalent among PC and console gamers alike, there have been a number of competitive leagues that have sprouted up in which the players can compete with the best in the world. This online competition is known as Electronic sport or E-sport for short and is one of the fastest growing trends in the world.
Electronic sports are essentially online competition between gamers and a selected gaming title is their battlefield. Like any other sport multiplayer gaming too requires skills, temperament and team work for success and much like professional sports, E-sports involves recruiting, training and sponsorships for the highest level of gamers. The history of E-sports can be traced back to games like ‘Doom’, which introduced multiplayer death-match games for the first time in which players used modem to modem connections.
Since then, the E-sports scene has continued to grow and has seen tremendous leaps in terms of the prize money, sponsorships and global recognition for the gamers. Nowadays, players travel round the globe to compete in various competitions to prove their mettle. Competitions like the ‘World Cyber games’ and ‘Electronic Sports World Cup’ are equivalent to the world cup of professional sports where teams from all over the world take part in fierce competition for both the bragging rights and the huge prize money involved.
In India, E-sports is a relatively new phenomenon, but it is catching up soon. Reuben Pereira, officially India’s best FIFA player and the only medal winner for India at the World Cyber Games is a living proof of the fact. “Gaming in India has reached new heights altogether and with good sponsorships by companies like India games and ESPN promoting the sport, the popularity of E-sports has reached a new high”, says Pereira who has been the face of Indian gaming for quite some time now.
With technology becoming cheaper and more sophisticated, it is a safe bet that E-sport will be a staple among the future generations and the increasing prize money in the sport will only draw more and more people towards it.
